spread option

Postby bscully on Sun Dec 28, 2008 4:43 pm

My school runs triple option in the style of Navy / Georgia Southern / Georgia Tech. Our head coach is strongly married to this offense. I called the plays last year and we were a successful team that wasnt overly skilled. As the Offensive coordinator I felt restricted by the offense though and we struggled when we needed to throw the ball. In the past we ran the spread option from the shotgun but I felt that the offset back really tipped our hats as to which way we were running the option. It has become obvious to me that we could run spread and triple schemes more effectively and give our QB a better chance when throwing the ball if we aligned in the pistol. WE can run our triple plus add trap / wrap / iso / counter and power schemes to the offense and give our Q a better look at the field but not allow the defense to set iteslf to which side the back is on. I need specifics on QB and FB alignment in the pistol for running triple. I need this to be dead on. My HC will argue that our timing will be screwed up / the offense wont be effective etc. I need to present this to him and have ALL of the bases covered in the sales pitch

Anyone have any info to share?

Show him some of the film we have on Pistolspreadoption.com

We ran all from pistol and used Navy/GT style most of the season.
