Blocking the A gap?

Postby CoachQ on Sun Sep 14, 2008 2:18 am

We played in scrimmages this weekend, we are a middle school team, and teams frequently blitzed the A gaps. I just wanted some ideas on what other people do to counter this.

Best thing to do is call "check" and have all of your linemen down block. Guards come down and take A gap, Tackles come down to B gap.

it would depend on what front i am seeing, in my league we have a lot of 4-3 teams so a gap blitzes are easy to deal with. I love to pass and a gap blitzes are always welcome, matter of fact i perfer teams that blitz tons

Im a little late to this but you could go with a 600 gap protection.
